Food Friday

I got basil leaves for my Tinola ( chicken with vegetables soup), since the right vegetables for this soup is not available here like green papaya or chayote, chili pepper leaves or malunggay (moringa)  leaves. I substituted basil leaves instead of chili pepper leaves which I read from ate Thess food blog. There are also green papayas here but its too expensive and so I used turnip. And here’s my tinola, a good soup of the day and the basil leaves really taste like chili peper leaves.

I love Tinola, and I’ll try to put Basil leaves next time, I love Basil so I’m sure I will like it. You can also try to put spinach, that’s what I use in place of the chili pepper leaves. Good thing we get chayote here in US.
